Working with the Child

“What is this inner child? Whitfield equates “the child within” with the true self. He says that when we are being our true self, we are alive and “we tend to feel current, complete, finished, appropriate, real, whole, and sane”
…. Jung wrote about the child within: “In every adult there lurks a child—an eternal child, something that is always becoming, is never completed, and calls for unceasing care, attention, and education. This is the part of the human personality which wants to develop and become whole”.”
~ Marilyn Morgan, Child States and Therapeutic Regression,
Excerpted From Hakomi Mindfulness-Centered Somatic Psychotherapy

The Working with the Child Series is for Hakomi Graduates and Practitioners who work with the Child State (The Inner Child) and work deeply with Core Material during their therapeutic process.

Jaci is offering a fuller orientation towards child state work to help students feel more fluid when encountering this part of their clients and this part of the processing stage of the Hakomi Method.

In this pilot series, through lecture, demonstration and practice,  Jaci will review and illuminate the Hakomi Therapist’s stance when working with the child state.

Topics include: a brief review of tracking for and contacting the child state, the 13 tasks of working with the child state, helping the client tell their child stories using character theory, child development, family systems theory and your own child experience.

Jaci will also touch on  guidelines for contacting the BIPOC, LGBTQ, Neurodiverse and differently-abled child.

This workshop is designed for all levels: Prospective Hakomi Learners, Students, Graduates, CHT/P’s, and Faculty.
