In this two day introduction to the Hakomi method we will explore what causes people to contract and how mindfulness supports the client’s expansion to become their fullest self with the capacity to hold complexities and contradictions in themselves and the world with love and compassion.
When the therapist makes true contact with their client, it is profoundly nourishing. It promotes the safety the client needs to look at the experiences that have caused contraction, disconnection, and other unconscious defenses. We will teach participants about both the SKILL and the STATE of deep contact with clients in the therapeutic relationship.
Using the 5 Principles of Mindfulness, Non-Violence, Unity, Organicity and Mind-Body Wholism, we will guide participants through a series of guided experiential exercises, in dyads and small groups, that will deepen your understanding and personal experience of the power of the Hakomi Method.
