Hakomi: The Art of Our Collective Journey from Wounding to Embodied Wholeness

We’re excited to welcome you to this one-day immersive experience where we will delve into the principles and practices of Hakomi, a mindfulness-based, body-centered therapy. In this workshop, we’ll explore how to access unconscious material compassionately with precision and depth. In addition, we will also explore how to go beyond past wounds, cultivating a liberated sense of being – rooted in our fundamental innate wholeness.

Through mindful intention and compassionate presence, you’ll learn how the body holds emotional truths, and how to harness this understanding for real nourishment and growth. As we explore our interconnectedness—both within ourselves and with others—you’ll discover how this deep connection can lead to healing, integration, and the ongoing development of your authentic self.

Whether you’re new to Hakomi or would like to review its core concepts, this workshop offers you the opportunity to explore new insights and deepen your practice, all while moving toward a more real and interconnected sense of being. Join us on this journey of wholeness and integration, grounded in our shared humanity.

This course consists of two online learning segments:

  • 1.5 hours of self-paced learning (brief video talk, Hakomi, demo session, articles and handouts) that you’ll complete at your own pace in the two-and-a-half weeks prior to our live Zoom class
  • 4.5 hours of online instructor-led classroom training via-Zoom, with plenty of opportunities of experiential learning, including breakout groups where you can practice new skills in a gentle and safe environment and receive immediate guidance and feedback from your instructor.

Learning Objectives:

  • The five basic principles of Hakomi and how they apply to psychological healing and growth
  • How to include and see past wounding, cultivating the wholeness that has always been with them.
  • How to shift into loving presence, allowing your work with your clients to be safer and go deeper
  • Useful ways to increase your ability to track verbal and nonverbal behaviors
  • Hakomi’s unique approach to using mindfulness and the body to transform core wounding

Who is this for?

This workshop is open and relevant to both clinicians and the general public.  It also serves as prerequisite hours for the Hakomi Comprehensive Training.
