Trauma experiences live in the memories of our bodies and shape our present moment outlook. Unresolved trauma can range from feeling disconnected to avoidant and agitated, creating limiting internalized beliefs that impact our relationships.
Tending to one’s innate body wisdom is essential both for personal wellbeing and for sustaining the complexity of trauma recovery. The healing journey from trauma is multidimensional, as it touches the individual, collective to the historical experience. Learning how we have been shaped by the various trauma systems somatically is a critical component to self-healing. We can meet this complexity by allying with our own nervous system through the moving-sensing non-verbal realm.
In this workshop we will focus on how Hakomi is a powerful method in healing trauma through safe embodied presence and somatic resilience processes.
Through the active engagement of our moving, sensing, feeling body we will discover our innate somatic intelligence. These capacities enable us to regulate and develop our somatic nervous system into deep resources. The mindful attitude of the Hakomi practitioner enables a safe connection towards creative and somatic knowledge within. Learn how the Hakomi principles of non-violenceand organicity will aid the trauma client through states of self judgment, shame and release negative self beliefs.
This is an immersive learning workshop, with guided mindful embodied practices, self-reflection inquiries and short didactic teachings to inspire you to connect with the innate somatic intelligence within you.
This workshop requires comfort with experiential practices, thorough mindful somatic practices, and self-reflection exercises and short small group sharing.
