ABOUT
Sybil Ottenstein
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of New York and graduate of the MHC program at Fordham University. At my group practice, Brooklyn Psychedelic Therapy, I offer individual therapy, individual Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), and group KAP.
I bring a holistic, relational lens to my therapeutic approach, to support my clients to listen to the wisdom of their body and nurture a loving, compassionate relationship with themselves and others. I am trained in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and certified in Psychedelic Integration and Harm Reduction. I have received advanced training in a variety of body-oriented healing modalities, including Hakomi Mindful Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing (SE), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). But most of all, I prioritize the co-creation of a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship above all else.
My therapeutic style is honest, nurturing, fierce and at times, silly. I hold my clients’ darkness with reverence, honor their resilience, and celebrate progress and possibility. I bring my whole self into the room – I’ll be laughing and crying as we work together to navigate whatever arises. My own personal experiences with Hakomi and psychedelics have shaped my life in immeasurable ways, and I feel humbled by the opportunity to support others on this path.
