Carlos Eduardo Melo Oliveira

Carlos Eduardo Melo Oliveira holds a Ph.D. in Collective Health and has been a clinical psychologist since 1999 and a body therapist since 1985. He is a Somatic Experiencing Teacher (SE), providing sessions and supervision at all levels of training. He is also a Certified Instructor for an 8-week Mindfulness Program by Mindfulness Training International. Carlos has also been trained in EMDR, Bioenergetic Analysis and Rio Abierto System (movement, massage and meditation). He is a Certified Hakomi Teacher in Brazil in the Matrix-Hakomi training there. Of the training, he says, “I experienced a quality of atmosphere and loving presence which captivated me.” Carlos works daily with psychotherapy clients, in addition to teaching the Somatic Experience classes, Mindfulness Program and Matrix-Hakomi study and practice groups. He has been married with Ana Cretton for 29 years (currently the Hakomi-Matrix training organizer in Brazil), and has a son age 32. He and Ana live and work in a nice residential neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro.
