An Introduction to the Innate Somatic Intelligence™ Trauma Therapy Approach (ISITTA) with Manuela Mischke-Reeds

Description

The therapist’s own somatic wisdom is critical in trauma healing. Tending to one’s innate body wisdom is essential both for personal wellbeing and for sustaining the complexity of supporting trauma recovery. ISITTA is a method of in-depth self-discovery for developing the somatic resilience you need to be an effective trauma therapist. The active engagement of our innate somatic intelligence as practitioners enables us to regulate and develop our internal nervous system resources. This gives us access to the creative and somatic knowledge within each of us. Through embodied, compassionate, mindful somatic practice we’ll learn how to support our clients on their trauma healing journey.

This introductory experiential workshop will teach you the basic view and key tools of the ISITTA approach to working with trauma. You’ll learn ISITTA’s unique approach to working with trauma from the inside out. This movement-based trauma-informed experiential therapy will be taught through guided practices, short didactic pieces and group discussion. You will build a repertoire that can be utilized in clinical practice.

What You Will Learn

  • How we understand trauma in our world through the intersection of inner and outer systems that affect and shape our collective and personal experience

  • How to apply the innate somatic intelligence of both the client and the practitioner as the basis for healing trauma

  • Practices that explore the innate intelligence of the therapist’s nervous system as a ground for regulation

Who Is This For?

This training will benefit psychotherapists, counselors, interns, health practitioners, trauma coaches and others who want to learn precise techniques for healing trauma and maintaining their own sense of health and wellbeing when working with trauma.
