ABOUT
Stuart Malkin
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington, and I have run my private practice, Clear Heart Counseling, in Portland since 2017. I hold a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Portland State University. Before that, I
completed the two-year Hakomi comprehensive training and a year-long internship in Hakomi and trauma-informed therapy. In 2015 I assisted in teaching the comprehensive program.
My work centers on developmental and complex trauma with adults and couples. I work mindfully and somatically, tracking what is alive in the body and staying with the client's own experience to help meaning and missing experiences unfold. I value relationship and going slowly. My way of working is
both pragmatic and experiential, and I trust what wants to emerge.
In addition to Hakomi, I draw on Lifespan Integration (Level 3) and Primary Attachment therapy. With couples, I use PACT (Level 1), Gottman (Level 1), and Compassionate Communication. I provide clinical supervision to LPC and MFT associates, and I am a Certified Therapeutic Game Master
developing role-playing game therapy groups.
I see clients in my Portland office and through telehealth.
