Hakomi, in all of its elegance and diversity, is the core of my practice. I have also deepened into adjacent modalities that swim in the same waters, and were founded by lead Hakomi Trainers. One of those is Relational Somatic Healing by Shirley Dvir, which works to heal relational trauma by exploring how it feels to be in relationship with me. The other is Innate Somatic Intelligence and Trauma Therapy (ISITTA) by Manuela Mischke-Reeds, offering practices to directly and gently release trauma stored on the body and awaken innate intelligence. I also may bring in other modalities I’ve studied extensively such as eco-therapy, art therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) parts work, Tamura Method (psychotherapeutic touch modality), or ritual and ceremony. I appreciate the Hakomi principle that we all carry a wise inner healer within, and it’s my job to guide clients into deeper contact with that inner knowing, and chart a healing path together from there. I adore Hakomi and the opportunity to accompany clients in gentle exploration that often brings us into deeper inner realms which can be surprising, wise, spiritual, delightful, expansive, or liberating.
