ABOUT

Jia Rebecca Li

Rebecca specializes in working with couples and families as well as with individuals on relationship issues. Rebecca has received extensive training in the Gottman Method Couple Therapy (Level III) as well as in-depth experience with Relational Life Therapy for Couples (by Terry Real), the Developmental Model of couple therapy (by Couples Institute), collaborative couple therapy (Dan Wile), EFT and PACT. Rebecca has worked with many relational difficulties that are often intertwined with depression, anxiety and addiction as well as issues of significant life transition, including in particular marital adjustment, becoming new parents, parenting teens, young adult launching, joining family business, career transition, and grief and loss. While client-specific factors may lead to different choices or blend of therapeutic approaches, Rebecca’s work is always deeply informed by the core principles of Hakomi as well as by attachment theory, systems thinking, neuroscience and cultural attunement. With prior careers as an attorney and later, entrepreneur and the lived experience of a first-generation Chinese immigrant, Rebecca strives for a deep, compassionate understanding of both her clients’ challenges and distress and their resilience and potentials. Rebecca offers therapy in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
