ABOUT

Beatrix FJ Runyan

I am a Certified Hakomi Practitioner with 5 years of experience and study in Hakomi. I am also an unlicensed psychotherapist registered with the state of Colorado and the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA). I believe in whole-humanness, reclaiming ourselves as nature and healing and thriving in relationship. The impetus to start studying Hakomi in 2017 (before I even knew what it was!) came from a knowing that there was something important in the work for me. When I experienced the Hakomi Method in an introductory training, I felt an irrefutable sense of rightness and purpose in my body, a bubbling of joy. An element of Hakomi that feels particularly important to me, is being invited to befriend and open into the most precious and important parts of the human being sitting across from me. What a gift. This process is listening, learning, meeting what is, “going together” and staying connected all the while.
Studying Hakomi, and its connections with neuroscience, has led me to study neuroscience at the University of Colorado Boulder. I love evolutionary biology, evolutionary psychology and the nitty gritty of what it is to be human. I have a background in dance, contemplative movement practice such as Authentic Movement, authentic relating, body work, yoga, mindfulness practices and personal transformational work.
