Sylvie Lam
Sylvie Lam
Sylvie Lam graduated from Naropa University with a degree in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling and currently runs her own private practice in a small mountain town in Colorado. Though her work is grounded in Hakomi, she incorporates her trainings in EMDR and PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy), her experience as a yoga teacher, and her personal explorations in the world of herbalism and natural medicine.
In her short time working in the counseling profession Sylvie has experienced a diversity of roles and work environments spanning addiction treatment, private practice, and different types of teaching. She has taught developmental psychology as an adjunct teacher at Naropa University for the Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling Masters degree program and finds working with counseling students incredibly expansive and fulfilling.
Sylvie recently joined the Colorado teaching team after almost a decade of training, TA’ing and teaching with Melissa Grace. She enjoys offering one on one supervision and mentoring but spends most of her energy supporting the Colorado and Northeast trainings. She is particularly interested in applying Hakomi to couples counseling work and incorporating trauma informed care. A new mother, Sylvie is filled up by spending time with her family and friends, exploring the river by her home, and painting.
