Maya Shaw Gale

Maya Shaw Gale, M.A., is a Certified Hakomi Practitioner and Trainer and has served on the Board of Directors of the Hakomi Institute for many years. She has trained professionals in the Hakomi Method in California, Kansas, Georgia, North Carolina, and for the past 15 years in New Zealand and Australia. Maya has also trained in Process-Oriented Psychology and World Work Conflict Resolution, Ericksonian Hypnosis, Embodied Dreamwork , Holodynamics, Authentic Movement and holds her Master’s degree in Expressive Arts Therapy. Maya is a certified life coach and has a mindfulness-based wellness coaching practice in Santa Barbara, CA with a focus on individuals, couples and organizations moving through transition. She is also a Certified Trainer with the Circle of Life Coaching Foundation and, as adjunct faculty of Cambridge College Graduate School of Education for 8 years, trained educators in curriculum applications of somatic awareness, mindfulness and emotional intelligence. Maya is also a performance artist in dance/theater and brings her love of movement and embodied learning processes into her teaching, counseling and coaching work. She particularly enjoys sharing her transformational work in nature retreat settings and is the founder of Women in the Wild, Inner Nature/ Outer Nature, and True Nature Retreats.
