Level One of the Hakomi Professional Training offers a thorough grounding in the theories and techniques of Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy through a combination of live teachings and home-study materials.

This training consists of seven modules. Training weekends include a mix of didactic material, experiential exercises, discussion, movement/embodiment exercises, and supervised practice times.

In this training, you will learn how to:

• Provide in-depth psychotherapy using the present moment and live experience as a gateway to unconscious material
• Design and use interventions to access and transform clients’ core models of the self, others and the world
• Track subtle nonverbal communication from the unconscious
• Apply mindfulness-centered, experiential methodologies to support enhanced safety, self-regulation and relationship skills
• Employ somatic techniques to access unconscious material not readily accessible through conversation alone
• Support resistance and psycho-emotional defenses instead of opposing them
• Help clients experience and process regressed states to resolve long-term issues and behaviors

Eligibility:

Our Hakomi Professional Trainings are for licensed therapists, counselors, and those on a licensure track, and others with equivalent skills and knowledge. It’s designed for licensed professionals with limited time who would like to integrate portions of Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy into their practices. This training can also be a track for those seeking certification in the Hakomi Method.
