Hakomi-Informed Somatic Coaching (HiSC) is a professional training that integrates core Hakomi methodology into a coaching framework. The HiSC Program offers a foundational Program in the principles, theories, and basic techniques of Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy as applied to the coaching field. The HiSC Program is a specialized coaching program and is considered continuing coach education (CCE) by the International Coach Federation (ICF).
This online training focuses on developing mindful and somatic awareness practices to deepen the client’s personal process. You will enhance both your presence and your skillset as a transformational coach. Participants will expand their relational skills through Hakomi methods that gently but powerfully invite emotional self-discovery. Supported by the coach, clients will engage in a cycle of transformation towards clarity, action, and deeper satisfaction in their work and in their lives. This training is suited for established coaches as well as new coaches wanting to train in somatics and mindfulness.
The HiSC Program is designed for coaches and is not a mental health training for psychotherapists or other licensed or registered mental health professionals. Coaching participants understand that using the full Hakomi method of psychotherapy requires ongoing study and appropriate professional credentials to offer psychotherapy or counseling in the person’s region.
The HiSC program is also not a pathway to certification in Hakomi. Hakomi Certification requires completing a Hakomi Training and getting subsequent mentoring and review by Hakomi trainers. At this time, the Hakomi Institute does not endorse titles such as Hakomi Coach. A HiSC graduate who successfully completes the program may refer to themselves as a “Graduate of the Hakomi-Informed Somatic Coaching program.”
